I enjoy photographing wildflowers, and this shot of a purple
gerardia is one of my favorite shots. The blossom is about the
size of a quarter, which gives you some perspective as to the
size of the bee that is resting on one of the hairy petals in
search of pollen.
I'm not sure that I was even aware of the presence of the tiny
bee when I took the photograph, and I remember being
pleasantly surprised when I saw the photograph for the first
time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. .
