Good evening,
brilliant sun
staring sleepily down from heaven
Forgive us as we trespass upon
your penetrating boundary,
in the Hawaiian bath
that cleanses our souls anew.
Forgive our children's silhouettes
as they run ramped in your backlight;
Forgive their mother's sandy feet
printed on the earth behind them,
all minds wandering without thoughts
of the yesterdays and tomorrows you bring.
Beautiful sun, as you head to slumber
forgive our selfish journeys;
For we are simply lovers and hunters
of your golden ropes of light,
that casts shadows under our trees
but shines happiness into our hearts.
