Life is a whirlwind of endless lessons learned. As human
beings, we make mistakes, we succeed, we create goals, and we
possess dreams. We all have an “outlet”, or a way of dealing
with our emotions. For some, writing in a journal, creating a
poem, or composing lyrics may be the best way to communicate
an idea. Others may choose to create a work of art by drawing
or abstract painting. Edward Hooper once stated: “If I could
say it in words there would be no reason to paint.”
Nevertheless, we all have our own way of dealing with our
emotions or problems. The most interesting aspect of
Self-expression, is that occasionally, the result will become
a masterpiece.
Paul Tillich, German Protestant Theologian, Philosopher, once
stated: “Our language has wisely sensed the two sides of being
alone. It has created the word loneliness to express the pain
of being alone. And it has created the word solitude to
express the glory of being alone.”
Self-expression is necessary in life. We all need a way to
release our emotions. Just think, next time, you may be
creating the next infamous masterpiece.
