I like your marsh land shot although I wouldn't consider it
a backlight representation, maybe go to that material in the course
and work on this a bit later

Same on the potted plants for side lighting

You grasped the basic concept on the silhouette image assignment
with the tree line acting as your silhouette image
although to make this technique more interesting and dramatic
find something with more shapes and lines
